Born and raised in Pinar del Río, Cuba, Javier immigrated to the United States with his family at a young age. His personal experience as an immigrant directly shaped his decision to pursue a career in immigration law and continues to influence how he approaches each case.

Legal Experience & Background

Javier began his academic journey at Miami Dade College before earning his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida International University. He later obtained his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where he focused his studies on International Law.

During law school, Javier was a published author in the ILSA Journal of International and Comparative Law and later served as Editor in Chief of the journal. His academic work included a comparative analysis of immigration and refugee law in the United States and Europe, strengthening his understanding of global migration systems and legal frameworks.
